Don't Panic is a unique free publication found in carefully selected independent shops, bars, universities and art spaces.
This weeks brief was to enter a live design competition by Don't Panic, every poster issued by this company has been designed by the public based on a chosen word, entered in the competition and chosen as the winning poster. For this brief the word was 'Vogue', we were asked to design 30 visual variations and 3 final posters to choose from.
My first idea was to create illustrative type based on fashion and beauty so that the letters we made out of products, although this could have proved to be very successful i didn't have the time needed to deliver this idea. Instead i collected images from Vogue magazines and decided to follow the style of fashion illustrations, i wanted it to be stylish and sophisticated so i kept the colours minimal with subtle hints of skin tones.

After attending a crit both the students and i chose the last composition as they liked how the faces are arranged closely together and direct your eye down the page to the type.
