its strange how i walked past this everyday and never took notice of it until i was looking closer at things. its the wall down the side of flames takeaway near college, i love the texture and colours and how the peeling paint revealed old hidden layers.

i've loved exploring leeds for inspiration and i think i've gathered some really interesting photographs of a wide range of media. its made me look at the city differently, i can't stop looking closer at things and exploring places i wouldn't have gone to before just to see if there is a little gem hiding from me. i was having a pretty rubbish day and found this painted sign by the ncp carpark on the walk home from uni, it certainly put a smile on my face. i really love little simple messages like this, it sure does make the world a happier place.

i remembered seeing this ages ago outside the light but it used to be a image of obama with obamagaeden wrote underneath it when i went back to look for it it was at the time of the elections and had changed to an image of Gordon Brown. i thought it was really interesting to see how it reflected what was going on in the world.

I started by taking my own photographs of buildings in Leeds instead of using images on the internet, this way i can get higher resolution pictures and overall better quality.

Desaturated images and cut on Photoshop.. Images to use!

I would like to create a 3d set using the buildings, creating the idea of exploring around Leeds!
i will use tab/ stands to stand up the buildings and create a 3d logo to add into the set...

It was quite difficult to get the lighting right as i was shooting it indoors, by using the tungsten light on the camera it neutralized the warm light of the room...

OUGD103- SFE Poster

My idea for the poster is to get out and explore Leeds to find inspiration, in the poster i would like to show places and things in Leeds. I want to keep the colours relevant to the logo, possibly desaturated images so it is mainly blue and white, i feel that these colours relate to ideas, thought and inspiration. they are clean and important looking.

this was a quick idea, i found images of leeds on the internet and made this poster on photoshop. adding the logo to the image, change the colour.

although i think this looks professional i don't think it reflects my creative abilities, it only took 2hrs, i would like to create something by hand and photograph it ..take more time over it and think more creatively!

I think the blue and white are appropriate as they appear like sky which reminds me of thoughts, ideas, dreams, inspiration. also white and blue is used a lot in information graphics proving it is clear, mature and of a serious tone.

Experimenting with different brush strokes on illustrator, i think i like the logo below better as is has a softer quality.

Open their eyes and take note of everything around them, keep a camera/ notebook with them at all times to capture pieces of inspiration. make them aware that inspiration isn't only found on the internet or in books it is all around them in everyday life.

WHY DO THEY NEED TO KNOW?

it is important for design context part of the course which has helped me with my ideas.

it will broaden their ideas and they will become aware of more things and how they can be useful sources of inspiration

WHAT WILL THEY RESPOND TO?

A book of images i have collated that have inspired me. people, places, books, films, buildings, objects, materials, patterns etc
